NOW FOR SALE!! Rona is my (Laura's) favorite horse. She stands 15.2 hh and there's just not much about her we don't like. By a AAA racehorse, BC Cadet, and an own granddaughter of the incomparable Ronas Ryon, multiple world champion race horse. On her bottom side Rona is out of a foundation bred Bar Money/Easy Jet bred mare. This is one of the greatest horses I have ever ridden. She is currently in training on the barrels & poles and her price is only going to go up when she starts bringing home checks. She is taking to the barrels like a duck takes to water and I am left wondering why I have owned her for the last six years without running her! I got out of barrels right after I had this mare shipped out of Georgia as a barrel prospect but she is really igniting the old fire again, she makes it hard not to want to run barrels! This mare should make a 1D barrel horse, she will outrun everything you ever sat on. I used to train horses for the racetrack and this mare is by far the fastest horse I have ever ridden, and she is just as quick as she is fast! Rona does it all from roping to trail riding, and is a pretty level headed mare. Does well in western pleasure, has gorgeous movement. She also has alot of natural cow in her and absolutely LOVES to chase cattle. She definitely has a personality, and a sense of humor all her own! None of these pics are the best since I am the photographer and I am always the one riding her we don't have any pics of her actually competing, etc. LOL
UPDATE: We have made the incredibly tough decision to put Rona up for sale. Can't believe we have come to this decision, but uUnfortunately she doesn't like the shooting and we don't have the time it would take to get her past that although we have no doubt it is more than possible. She is fine with shooting and loud noises but just gets nervous and pensive when shooting on her back.

This is Ronas Ryon, Rona's grandsire and EJ's sire. One of the greatest horses that ever lived. He was a multiple world champion racehorse, winner of the All American Futurity and sire of winners in everything, including racing, roping, hunter/hack, barrel racing and much more. Although bred for speed Ronas Ryon descendants are known for their awesome temperaments and level heads. EJ and Rona have both been great examples of the Ronas Ryon bloodlines, as they do anything and everything asked of them and excel at everything put in front of them. In 2003 Laura nominated Ronas Ryon for the AQHA Hall of Fame and in 2004 he was INDUCTED!! We were so pleased to see him finally take his place beside the greatest quarter horses in history!! None have been more deserving. |
